RuneReader Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 29, 2026
Â
RuneReader is designed to limit the amount of personal information handled directly by the developer. The application does not require users to create a traditional account, does not request a user's name or email address for ordinary in-app use, and does not directly sell personal information.
Â
Important Notice
RuneReader currently relies on third-party platform and infrastructure services, including Google AdMob, Google Firebase, and Google Play Billing. As a result, it would not be accurate to state that the application collects no data or shares no data under any circumstances. These providers may process technical, advertising, transaction, and usage-related information as part of delivering application functionality.
Â
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
RuneReader stores certain information locally on your device in order to operate correctly, including:
Â
-
your current rune draw state;
-
daily draw status and related application state;
-
locally cached premium entitlement status, including the most recent verified premium state, verification timestamp, and entitlement source;
-
locally stored daily draw usage information used to enforce free-user offline access rules, including the applicable reset date and the rune associated with an offline daily draw;
-
settings preferences, including whether Murk meanings are displayed; and
-
exported rune images that you choose to save.
Â
The existence of this local information on your device does not, by itself, cause it to be transmitted to the developer.
This locally stored information allows RuneReader to continue functioning in a limited offline mode and, where applicable, to preserve previously verified premium access on the device until connectivity is restored and entitlement status can be checked again.
Third-Party Services Used by the Application
RuneReader currently integrates the following categories of third-party services:
Â
-
Firebase Authentication and Cloud Functions:Â used to support anonymous sign-in, entitlement checks, and daily draw functionality.
-
Google AdMob:Â used to provide rewarded advertising for certain free-user features.
-
Google Play Billing:Â used to support premium purchases and restoration of purchase entitlements.
Â
Information That May Be Processed
Based on the application's current implementation, the third-party services used by RuneReader may process information such as anonymous app or installation identifiers, device or application information, IP address, rewarded-ad events, entitlement status, purchase status, and technical request data necessary to provide these features.
RuneReader is not currently designed to directly collect user-entered profile data, contacts, photographs, messages, or precise location information.
Advertising
Certain free features in RuneReader may require the viewing of rewarded advertisements. Those advertisements are served through Google AdMob. In connection with the delivery, measurement, and operation of advertising services, Google and its partners may process information in accordance with their own policies and the configuration used in the application.
Learn more here:Â How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Purchases
If you purchase premium features, Google Play Billing may process transaction and purchase-restoration information. Payment card information is handled by the applicable platform provider and is not entered directly into RuneReader.
Disclosure of Information
The developer does not directly sell personal information. However, information may be processed by third-party providers that support core application functions, including advertising, authentication, backend, and billing services.
Retention
Local application data remains on your device until you clear application data, uninstall the application, or delete exported files. Information handled by third-party services is retained in accordance with those providers' own operational, legal, and compliance requirements.
Locally cached premium entitlement status and locally stored daily draw usage are retained only for the period necessary to support application access, daily-draw enforcement, restoration of previously verified premium functionality, and synchronization after connectivity returns.
Your Choices
-
You may uninstall the application or clear application data through your device settings.
-
You may remove locally cached application data, including offline entitlement and daily draw information, by clearing application storage through your device settings.
-
You may choose not to use premium purchase features.
-
You may choose not to use additional ad-supported draws.
-
You may be able to manage certain advertising and privacy preferences through your Google account or device settings, depending on your platform and region.
Â
Offline Operation
When RuneReader is used without an active internet connection, certain functions may be limited. Free users may receive only the daily single-rune draw while offline, while ad-supported extra draws, premium purchase actions, and other features that depend on connectivity may be unavailable until a connection is restored. Users with previously verified premium access may continue to use premium reading modes offline on that device, subject to later entitlement refresh when connectivity becomes available again.
Children's Privacy
RuneReader is not intended for children under the age at which parental consent is legally required in the applicable jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time if the application's data practices, service providers, or legal obligations change. Any updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
